Visual artists are invited to submit their works for a curated upcoming international exhibition in Greece. This exhibition, which will explore how our physical interactions with the world influence social progress.
Submissions are welcome in various forms, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, art photography, collage, textile/fiber art, and digital art. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in any way they see fit, engaging with the concept of embodied cognition, where bodily movements and physical experiences shape thought and understanding in society today. The exhibition draws on the theories of scholars like George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, who argue that metaphors in language are rooted in physical experiences. Art, much like language, can translate these bodily experiences into a deeper cultural and social understanding.
The exhibition will be held in Greece, with selected works displayed both physically and online via the ARTgrID platform for one month. A commemorative digital catalog will be published in Greek and English. Artists from around the world can apply, provided they are at least 18 years old. Non-digital artworks must be shipped to Greece at the artist's expense if selected.
This is a unique opportunity for artists to contribute to a global dialogue on the connection between body, mind, and society, through the powerful medium of visual art. Submissions are open now, so seize this chance to showcase your work on an international stage.
