Animasyros this year has partnered with the International Animation Film Market (MIFA), which is part of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the world’s top reference for animation films. The two organizations, during the festival’s “Agora” section, will hold a four-day pitch coaching workshop in Athens and on Syros for animators and teachers from Greece and the UK. The winning project will be presented during the MIFA pitches at the Annecy Festival 2021.
In its 13th year, Animasyros will honor the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Czech Film Center, and Mexico in cooperation with the Embassy of Mexico. The festival will include four competitions: The International and Student Short Films and Feature Films (Audience Award), and the European Values Award #ThisIsEU – European Commission Representative Award. Furthermore, Animasyros will feature thematic panoramas of films that will not compete (International, Student & Greek Panoramas, K.DI.S.). The deadline for submissions is on June 30. For more information visit the website www.animasyros.gr. Animasyros is co-organized by the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupolis and the South Aegean Region.
