Opening: November 23rd 2018, 19:00-22:00
Exhibition duration: November 23rd 2018 – January 31st 2019
With the exhibition Satori, Eleni Marneri Galerie invite us to awake our expectations and undiscovered emotions. The end of one more year creates the urge for self-awareness. Some circles are being completed in order to open new ones. It is the right moment to listen to ourselves. The japanese term Satori (悟り), that literally means understanding and is defined as a deep and substantial procedure of spiritual enlightenment, became the stimulus for this exhibition. Getting in touch with our inner self, we are immersed in a constant introspection coming closer to the ''sudden awakening'', as Jack Kerouac refers to his novel ''Satori in Paris''. All the gallery space is turned into oikos (house) – the house of soul, that permit ourselves to intuit our profound desires. Twelve designers surrender to a endless flow of creativity and inspiration. Through art they touch their own light and bliss and each creation signifies their personal Satori. Outstanding jewellery, ceramic objects, light installations, visual compositions with fabric warm the atmosphere by illuminating the mind and the spirit. Different materials and techniques result in designs that release movement, energy and power, symbolising the uninterrupted flow of change and progression.
Participant designers: Katerina Anastasiou, Mari Aoyama, Maria Apostolopoulou, Nikos Karakostas, Sissy Koukeri, Maria Mastori, Jeremy May, Melina Polychronopoulou, Elli Sofianopoulou, Joy Stathopoulou, Vasilis Vassiliou and Sofia Zarari.
