Skoufa Gallery presents the exhibition entitled "Journey of the Worlds” from the famous Patrick Fabre Collection on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 20.00. The exhibition will run until October 13, 2018. Born in France and famous for his faraway travels to remote African and Asian countries, Patrick Fabre seeks out and discovers rare pieces of primitive art, combining his ethnological knowledge with the sensitivity of an artist, continuously renewing a large and valuable collection of ethnographic character. Exquisite jewels such as indigenous Indian gold jewelry, old traditional jewelry from the African and Asian tribes, silver carved bracelets and earrings, necklaces from Yemen and Morocco, all handmade and original, made with patience and emphasis on detail. Handmade furniture, rare works of art and textiles from the depths of Africa and Asia, depicting the everyday life of the tribes living in Ethiopia, Morocco, Mali, etc., combining functionality and simplicity with a primitive - but unexpectedly contemporary aesthetics will create a unique ethnic scenery at Skoufa Gallery. The exhibits reveal to the audience a long-standing tradition of art and culture of the African and Asian tribes that has been and still is a valuable heritage and reference point for the western civilization over time.
