Greek Marble Initiative Showroom at Myrο Gallery presents sculptor Stratos Pallas


Friday, January 13, 2017 -Myro Gallery and the Greek Marble Initiative are pleased to invite you to the opening of the solo exhibition of sculptor Stratos Pallas under the title "Complexes" that will take place Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. (20.00), on the site Greek Marble Initiative Showroom (address: 8, Nikiforos Fokas Str., Thessaloniki center). The exhibition is curated by Paris Kapralos.

The young sculptor's exhibition is focusing on the complex relations as experienced by us all daily, while things could be simpler. The sculptures depict various stages of human relationships, especially those incorporating burdened past, their wounds will never go away. The presentation of the series have narrative character and projects as a solution the erotic union. The sculptures are made of marble, some consist of several distinct parts, with different qualities and textures of the material endorsing the emotions and the psyche of special forms which they incarnate. The series of sculptor works is anthropocentric, as does all the work of the sculptor to date, both in sculpture and in his installations. An exquisite figurative sculptor, despite his young age, has won by hard work and his excellent work, attention, admiration and appreciation for his work.

The exhibition will last until Saturday, February 18, 2017, and will be open -with free admission for the public; Thursday, Friday 11.00 - 14.00 & 17.00 - 21.00 and Saturday 11.00 - 15.00.

Brief Biography
Stratos Pallas born in Thessaloniki, in 1990, and graduated from the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with sculpture as his studies focus. He is mostly interested in the study and the extension of his knowledge on the technique of marble sculpturing. He has taken part in several group exhibitions in Greece presenting his work. In 2014 and for 3 months he participated in the residence programs of Glo'Art at Lanaken, Belgium, with an outcome of three sculptures. He has been admitted in the Greek Marble Initiative Summer symposium of 2013 as a Guest Artist, to become an Associated to the Initiative sculptor on 2014.
