Monday 20th of April, 2015 - Kurzor_kolektiv announces its second open call for the project Braincandy. Create a one-second video inspired by the given theme. We also welcome projects in other art mediums.
In today’s culture of constant busyness the information appears as quickly as it dissapears. Our society is getting used to accept it in pace that would be unthinkable before. It seems that we can’t keep up, but we are actually able to pull one second out of the stream and give it a closer look.
You can submit your projects (videos or photos, objects) until 29.4.2015 to the address: kurzorkolektiv@gmail.com
We also welcome a short accompanying description.
One-second videos will also be published in an online gallery braincandy.cz

Magical computing is the technology of the future. Not only does it correct all your mistakes but it can also predict what you want it to do,sometimes sooner than you know. It wants to know you. The more it knows you, the more helpful it becomes.
At the moment, devices still need to ask for your trust. But the reward is so sweet, so hard to resist. Accept cookies… It knows what you’re looking for, finishes your sentences, recommends the perfect music and friends for you.You will like this.
Automatic adjustment of photography can save you a lot of time. Click and that’s it. It’s magic. However, the result isn’t always plausible. Automatic correction of text can sometimes be even comical. While text editors still more or less concentrate on simple correction of grammatical errors, it also depends on each of your keystrokes. The real magic of computing finds its origin in mobile devices. Whisperers of words had gone through a noticeable development, from predictive writing of T9 on push-button cell phones to touch-screen SwiftKey: a keyboard which puts words together based on your continuous movement. This keyboard learns the way you communicate including the errors you regularly make. All that happens in the background, inconspicuously. Like magic.
The Internet gathers an unimaginable amount of data that grows constantly. We are becoming digital, but we’re starting to lose track, we’re becoming lost… That’s why the help is coming. Or is it already here?! Predictive technology spreads faster than we fully realize. SwiftKey, Google Now, The Grid, MindMeld, Cover…or even the Facebook stream.
It is too late to be afraid of artificial intelligence.
What’ll come next?
And how predictable are we actually?
